Gloucestershire FA Boys Development Centre – 2021/22

Following our successful 12-week pilot, we are delighted to announce that the Gloucestershire FA Boys Development Centre will be running a 24-week programme for the 2021/22 season.

Our 12-week programme proved extremely popular, and we have received incredible feedback from those involved alongside numerous enquiries from those wanting to get involved.

What is the Gloucestershire FA Boys Development Centre?

The Gloucestershire FA Boys Development Centre is a new programme designed to support the development and progression of talented young male players in Gloucestershire who are not currently signed to a Professional Club Academy.

The programme will provide supplementary support for selected players with an additional night’s training each week to their grassroots clubs’ provision, allowing players to continue playing for their grassroots club. This pathway ensures that the players’ development, health and well-being is at the forefront of the programme.

The sessions will centre on the England DNA with a focus on the key attributes and skills of the Future England Player, whereby Coaches will work with individual players across The FA Four Corners Model: Technical/Tactical, Physical, Social and Psychological.

Who is the programme for and when/where will the sessions take place?

The Development Centre will provide opportunities for players in the age groups from U9s to U16s. All sessions will be based at Gloucestershire FA, Oaklands Park, Almondsbury, Bristol, BS32 4AG on the 3G Football Pitch and will take place on Tuesday evenings as detailed below.

• U9, U10, U11 & U12: 5.00pm – 6.00pm

• U13, U14, U14 &U16: 6.00pm – 7.00pm

The Development Centre will provide a 24-week training programme for selected players commencing on 14th September 2021 and running to the 22nd March 2022.

How do we get involved?

Due to significant interest in the programme, we will be operating a 2-week trials process for the 2021/22 season. Trials will take place on Tuesday August 31st and Tuesday September 7th as follows:

Tuesday 31st August:

• U9s & U11s: 5.00pm - 6.00pm

• U13s & U15s: 6.00pm - 7.00pm

Tuesday 7th September:

• U10s & U12s: 5.00pm - 6.00pm

• U14s & U16s: 6.00pm - 7.00pm

Please complete and submit an online form via the link below to apply for place at the Gloucestershire FA Boys Development Centre Trials.

There will be a limit on the number of trial places per age group and these will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.

The deadline to register for a trial has now passed.

Please note that by completing this form your child is not guaranteed a place at the Gloucestershire FA Boys Development Centre as there are limited places available within each age group and players will be selected via the 2 weeks trials process.

For players selected to join the Gloucestershire FA Boys Development Centre they will be invited to attend a 24-week training programme. The cost of the 24-week programme will be £170.00. Parents/guardians will have the option to pay the full £170.00 in 1 instalment or via 2 instalments of £85.00.
