Hartpury College to host Futsal Referee Course

Become a qualified futsal referee!

The GFA is pleased to bring you this exciting opportunity to become a qualified futsal referee.

The FA Futsal Referees Course is designed for anyone aged 14 and over who wants to join the fast-paced sport of Futsal. Futsal has a pathway from the local sports hall through to refereeing on the international stage. Futsal referees play an integral role in ensuring all participants enjoy their match day experience, helping create a competitive, fair, safe and enjoyable playing environment.

Whether you want to referee in youth and adult leagues, men's or women's Futsal, The FA Futsal Referees Course is the starting point for your career. Refereeing is not only rewarding in a Futsal environment, but the social and life skills that come from becoming a referee extend far beyond your initial expectations.

There is no requirement to be a registered football referee to attend this course.

SESSION DETAILS

Date - Saturday 26th October 2024

Venue - Hartpury College Sports Centre, Hartpury, Gloucester, GL19 3BE

Time - 9am - 5pm

Price - £60.00, including a Referee Starter Pack (whistle, lanyard, yellow/red cards, match record pad & coin)

This course is designed to provide training for those who want to referee Futsal and will focus on the following key areas:

  • Understanding the laws of Futsal and their practical application.
  • The realities of your role - dealing with practical situations including misconduct.
  • Putting your skills and knowledge into practice by refereeing live games.

It is anticipated that the majority of learning will be facilitated in a practical environment.

COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

To provide learners with an introduction to refereeing Futsal, identifying the skills required to effectively referee games of Futsal. Following initial training the candidates will be expected to referee a minimum of six games before returning for a review session, during which their knowledge of the Laws will be assessed.

 

OPPORTUNITIES TO REFEREE

Following successful completion of the course, candidates will have opportunities to referee at the designated Futsal Leagues, and several other opportunities across the County.

Hartpury offer several tournaments throughout the season as well as Premier League tournaments. There are also venues in Bristol and neighbouring Counties that may provide opportunities.
