Reporting hate and discrimination
It's easier than ever to report hate and discrimination. Report it, and help us to tackle it with strong punishments for the offenders.
Everyone in grassroots football is being encouraged to report hate to protect the game via the FA website, Kick It Out App or website, County FAs or the match official.
During the 2023-24 grassroots football season, the FA tackled serious misconduct with record sanctions, issuing over 2500 charges. A total of 1351 charges for discrimination resulted in bans totalling 5510 matches, and 1351 hours of educational courses. The average ban was seven matches.
This season, a number of new measures have been introduced to tackle unacceptable behaviours across grassroots football.
These include new penalty points accumulations, revamped sinbins, continued league points deductions, and a new Grassroots Code of Conduct designed to re-enforce positive standards of behavior. The interventions form part of the ‘Love Football. Protect The Game’ campaign to introduce enhanced measures and tougher sanctions so that everyone can enjoy the game in a positive and enjoyable environment.
The message is clear: hate will not be tolerated. It will be punished.
So play your part, and report discrimination wherever you see, hear or experience it. You can tell:

- Kick It Out - click here
- Your match official
You might want to report verbal abuse, insulting gestures or prejudicial behaviour. Racism, sexism and homophobia are the most common hate incidents we hear about, but we want to hear about any form of discriminatory behaviour any time it happens. If it feels wrong to you, it will to others too.
