What is an ACC?
The Gloucestershire FA ACC provides a professional environment to allow Elite Female Players to reach their full potential within the game and have the opportunity to progress up the Player Pathway.
As well as additional coaching, players can expect to receive 1:1 support from their coaches, additional opportunities for learning outside of training, player reviews throughout the season, support from FA members of staff around injury prevention and a Nike Kit package.
From the Gloucestershire ACC programme, Elite Players could be selected to attend a trial for the FA Girls’ Regional Excellence Camp (South West) which involves weekend residential camps and opportunities to attend FA Performance Hubs throughout the season.
Where and when does the ACC take place?
The ACC will be based at Gloucestershire FA, Oaklands Park, Almondsbury, Bristol, BS32 4AG on the new 3G Football Pitch and this training will take place on Monday evenings as detailed below. Players must live within a 90 minute/90 mile radius of the training venue. Player’s ages are based on School Years from September 2017:
U12’s (Year 6 & 7) 5.45pm – 7.30pm
U14’s (Year 8 & 9) 7.15pm – 9.00pm
U16’s (Year 10 & 11) 7.15pm – 9.00pm
The ACC provides extra training and support in addition to coaching players receive at their grassroots club. Every player will continue to play for their club, and receive extra coaching one evening a week from FA qualified coaches. This includes specialist coaching for goalkeepers.
Players will also play in Regional ACC fixtures and festivals against other Advanced Coaching Centres in the South West Region and a fixture programme that will involve playing against mixed teams predominantly during School Holidays and occasional weekends.
We encourage players playing in Girls Teams and Mixed Teams to attend the trials as well as those who play football with their school.
To be eligible for selection for the ACC, girls must be playing in an affiliated grassroots club during the 2017-18 season and be eligible to represent England.
